FRZ Zurich Airport Region – Business Network & Economic Development – is the leading network for business, science, and politics in the Zurich Airport Region. FRZ creates lasting value through strategic networking and location development in Switzerland’s most attractive economic area. The organization connects over 800 companies from 100 cities and 14 municipalities, collectively offering more than 250,000 jobs.

For the past year, we have been responsible for all marketing activities of the Zurich Airport Region (FRZ) – delivering top-level communications.

Since spring 2024, we’ve been supporting the FRZ team both strategically and operationally as their outsourced marketing and communications department. With our extensive expertise in strategic brand positioning, storytelling, digital marketing, and sustainability communication, we’re taking FRZ’s communications to the next level – together.

FRZ hosts around 50 events per year and regularly publishes its own customer magazine as well as a monthly newsletter. We are responsible for the strategic and operational implementation of all communication activities, ensuring that all content is consistent, targeted, and professionally executed. Our scope of work includes: 

  • Social Media: Management of LinkedIn and Instagram channels, including content strategy, topic planning, and community management.
  • Annual Report: Co-concept and execution – co-creation of ideas, editorial work, proofreading, and support in the design development.
  • Newsletter: Creation and distribution of the monthly newsletter in close coordination with the FRZ office, offering news and opportunities for members.
  • Magazin „mag“: Support with the relaunch, editorial content, and production of the customer magazine.
  • Print Materials: Co-design and production of event invitations, program brochures, leaflets, holiday cards, and roll-ups.

EXCELLENT EVENT COMMUNICATION FOR THE FLAGSHIP EVENTS

The FRZ flagship events—particularly the “ImmoSummit” (Real estate conference) and the “Wirtschaftsforum” (Economic and business forum) — are the major highlights in the FRZ’s annual calendar. In close collaboration with the FRZ team, we develop event storylines and key messages that are consistently reflected across all touchpoints, from invitations to video trailers. This includes:

  • Developing a central concept (visual theme and tagline) for each event that carries through the entire experience, both in terms of content and visuals.
  • Co-creation of communication materials such as invitations, program booklets, and event brochures.
  • Social media communication before, during, and after events.
  • Production of event trailers and key visuals.

SOLUTION

As the outsourced marketing and communications department, we are responsible for further developing FRZ’s positioning as one of Switzerland’s leading business networks. Our approach is shaped by holistic, strategic brand communication that supports FRZ’s goals and strengthens its role as a central platform for business, science, and politics.

With our expertise in brand management, location marketing, association and sustainability communication, we have developed – in close collaboration with the FRZ team – a consistent and impactful communications framework. It brings FRZ’s six core themes clearly into focus and communicates them in a targeted way. Our work goes far beyond implementation: we work hand in hand with the FRZ management and executive office to ensure that the Zurich Airport Region is perceived as a strong, future-oriented business region – both in Switzerland and beyond.

Our services include:

  • Brand Management & Storytelling: Developing a consistent narrative that runs across all communication channels
  • Location Marketing: Strengthening the perception of FRZ as an attractive national and international business location with a clear strategic focus
  • Sustainability Communication: Embedding FRZ’s sustainability strategy as an integral part of its brand identity
  • Member Communication: Building and maintaining an active dialogue with members to foster networking and exchange within the community

  • Expanding LinkedIn as a knowledge and information hub, including community management
  • Expanding Instagram as a platform for employer branding and event insights
  • Video content for main events to showcase community spirit, strategic topics, and boost reach
  • Live event posting: offering insights and impressions
  • Development and support of “FRZ Ambassadors” as strong brand advocates

Annual report

  • Co-concept and project management
  • Organization and coordination of photoshoots (executive board and office team)
  • Proofreading and layout

Strategy / Consulting

  • Establishing “Power Sessions” (short workshops) at the “Wirtschaftsforum” (Economic and business forum)
  • Topic planning across all FRZ channels
  • Strengthening community focus in the newsletter
  • Defining editorial themes for the “mag” magazine
  • Creation of fact sheets on regional development topics: MICE, headquarters, mobility, ICT

RESULTS

Thanks to our support, FRZ has significantly refined its marketing and communication strategy. Social media reach and engagement have increased substantially, event communications have been optimized, and the brand perception of FRZ as a leading business network has been steadily strengthened. Through our expertise and close collaboration with the FRZ team, we have jointly enhanced and sharpened the organization’s communications.
